Self love

Self love forms the bedrock of our most important relationship, the relationship with our selves. The strength of all our other relationships can only be equal to the strength of our self love.

What exactly is “self love”? Well, loving oneself is not about raising self esteem, it’s a requirement for truly loving others. Self love is not about being arrogant, conceited or egotistical. It’s not about comparing yourself to others to convince yourself you are good enough. It’s not about always putting yourself first at the expense of others. It’s not about getting your way. It’s not about looking after number one.

To love ourselves is to be in awe of the miracle of our existence. It is to accept ourselves as we are, as there are both good and not so good aspects to all of us. It is to be willing to receive as much as we are willing to give. It’s about looking after our mind, body and spirit. It’s about teaching others how to treat us by showing them how we treat ourselves. It’s about knowing we have worth, not because of what we have achieved or what we look like or what others think about us, but because love is our birthright, love is “who” we truly are, love is “what” we truly are.

Only when we love ourselves will we be able to truly love others for the pure bliss of loving them. Give the love you wish to experience to yourself, and you will find all your relationships transforming in magical ways!

There is a single, intelligent consciousness that pervades the entire Universe, it is the Source of all love, it is love. When you understand this truth, that you are one with the source of all love and that your very essence is love, then you will have discovered unconditional love for yourself and unlimited potential for loving everyone and everything. You will know that to love yourself is to love God.

Self love allows you to truly rejoice in other people’s good fortune, rather than wondering “why not me” or even resenting another’s good fortune. It allows you to be more genuinely loving towards others and to be of greater service to all. The more you love yourself, the more everything and everyone you encounter benefits. The most important decision of your life, the one that will effect every other decision you make, is the commitment to love and accept yourself. It directly affects the quality of your relationships, your work, your free time, your faith, and your future.

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” ― Gautama Buddha

“If you truly loved yourself, you could never hurt another.” ― Gautama Buddha

If there is one true answer, it is “Self Love.” – Futurmajic
